The course is designed for relatively advanced photographers who seek to tell a story in the photographic medium. Beginning in 1991 Prof.Milota Havránková led the Photographic Studio at VŠVU (Academy of fine arts and design) in Bratislava. From 1994 to 2005 she lectured at the Department of Photography at FAMU (Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts) in Prague. Currently she leads the studio Photomedia in Banská Bystrica. With her new approach to photography (the so-called Slovak New Wave of the 80s at FAMU in Prague) she captivates and still shapes the young generation of distinctive photographers. She has received several awards for her contributions to photography. Her workshop focuses on; the interrelations of the photographs, modifying the photographic image, teaching participants to think about and to understand the context, releasing the imagination and creating a story. In today's visual culture this is one of the most important elements of creativity. To search, to see and to know what to choose...
The program This whole day course is aimed at creating a storyboard from your own photographs or from those available on the internet. The aim of the course is to creatively work, in a limited time, with photographs without photographing. For the participants another experience opens, which is crucial to working with the medium of photography. It is necessary to engage the imagination, dramaturgically construct a story and convey through this story your own idea. Lunch break. The created storyboards will be presented, peer reviewed and discussed. You will be able to show your portfolio to an expert who has been actively participating in the field of photography for 50 years.
